I went on a school residential there and it was okay. I liked the venue and the fact that it has it's own high ropes and climbing wall course. I can't blame much on the staff, but I will say they tried to embarrass you more when you do something wrong. It's worth mentioning that the student lounge had a funny smell that never seemed to spill out even when the door was wide open. I wanted to point that out. Despite that, I loved that the rooms had decent mattresses, and the names were named after Welsh places e.g. Glasbury, Severn and Wye. The dinners were good if I put myself in other people's shoes (as I don't vary my diet that much), but it was nice they gave me a variety. A big downside is that, in my opinion, the staff didn't really take us year 6s into the concept of being responsible for our stuff very well. I feel like they expected us to do it immediately after they said which for me, was a little big dodgy on the first two days, but looking back, it's good to be independent, just not when there is pressure on you like I perceived there was. But, it had a great location, fantastic activities, so I think it did a really good job!

Review from my daughter Daisy who went there on school residential: "Great place, people are really nice and caring, Nick is my favourite. It is clean and tidy and it is good that we have to clean and tidy up after ourselves and be independent. It deserves 5 stars".

Best week ive had on a trip ever, ill definetly miss this place. And if i asked to live there forever with my friends on go on trips everyday, id say yes in a heartbeat. And for some people saying Dan and Nick were rude and agressive, for my expereince, they were sweet caring and encouraging, maybe they would be a bit irritated but what do you expect from taking care of 20 children for a whole week. Once again, its worth every penny.

We went here on a school trip. It’s a really nice place and location, with good activities. However there are a couple bad sides. Firstly, the guides Nick and Dan are quite snide arrogant and aggressive, while dylan and Mark are quite good. Also, the dinner was either very small or not very good, and lots of mattresses were really bad. But had a good time overall

As a school who have been going here for the past 28 years plus, I can highly recommend this centre. As a Headteacher who has been to many different providers in the past Woodlands standd read and shoulders advice the rest. So a five star rating well deserved.

I had an ok time. I enjoyed being with my friends in the rooms and the evening activities. But I have to say the daytime activities were not fun, and that is for one reason. My instructor was horrible. He was called Nick and he made the whole experience stressful. Every day I would dread the thought of going to the activity because of him. He would shout at us to Stanton for no reason and he was very stressful to be around. He had a very sarcastic and mean tone to him which just made it horrible and I would honestly be so scared. Everyone else in my group agreed with me in saying that he was not nice to us and made it a bad experience. I don’t think he should be doing that as he made my time there a nightmare and made me want to go home the entire time. I would not come again with the fear of him being my instructor.
