A fantastic weekend with Matthew and Gray. Being new to Yoga, Gray was an excellent teacher and I found the sessions really enjoyable. Meanwhile, Matthew would be preparing superb food for us all which was absolutely delicious. Great swimming spots as well. Highly recommend. Thank you.

I'm still reflecting on my experience at the Queer Nature Retreat in September 2025, I think it will stay with me for years to come. To be surrounded by wonderful queers of varied years, in a little slice of Welsh idyll. It's not something I expected to happen whilst navigating a health journey where I've needed to adjust to a slower, isolated pattern these days. I felt reassured I could join in with events at the retreat when I felt able to, and retreat when needed, this really helped me make the most of the stay, I only wish I could have stayed longer to get to know individuals better. We stayed in the room above the kitchen, on such a comfortable bed, great for napping, and mediation. The Chapel is full of inspiration, beautiful textiles, books, painted window arches and mural. Situated in a small village I loved hearing quiet goings on in the surrounds. Staying near the river was gorgeous during early Autumn. The team hosted with love and care for the retreat, I felt seen. Privileged to hear stories and take in performance from the group itself. I ate very well amongst the group despite own dietary restrictions, the food was thoughtfully prepared and provoked a lot of happy dances around the table. If this is something you've been searching for it's probably for you. Hope to return in the near future.

I spent last weekend on a retreat with River Flow Yoga and I wish I back there this weekend! I cannot rate them highly enough. Matthew, Gray and team are wonderful human beings with such genuine interest in, and care for, others. There are many Yoga and wellness retreats out there, but River Flow is different. From the amazing food whipped up by Matthew to the warm and humorous hosting by Gray, the serenity of the chapel on the green, the wonderful landscapes and the unusual and fulfilling activities, these retreats are something special. Gray also offers wonderful massages. What makes this place special above all is the people who care for you there. I really felt held and looked after, not just physically but mentally and emotionally as well. I am truly grateful for the experience and can't wait to go back! Thanks to everyone and of course my wonderful fellow attendees 🌈💜

River Flow Yoga’s Queer Nature retreat was such a gorgeous experience. Gray, Matthew and the team created a warm, welcoming and nurturing space right from the minute we stepped into the beautiful Chapel on the Green. It wasn’t luck that they’d drawn together an amazing bunch of queer humans who made the stay even more special and joyful. The whole experience managed to feel both full and spacious - invitational yoga practices, time in nature, life affirming dips in the river, rich explorations of queerness, time to nap/read/chat, a fabulous soiree, the most incredible food and queer joy a plenty… I only wish it had been longer but I’ll be back! THANK YOU x

I went on the Queer Nature retreat 26-28 September 2025 and really enjoyed it. The weekend was set in a beautiful chapel venue and there were such warm-hearted, generous, creative offerings - from different yoga styles, meditation, nature walks, a a tea party workshop about queerness & nature, plus gorgeous, nutritious veggie food throughout that was superb - homemade and restaurant quality - alongside the freedom to rest, wild swim, go into Hay-on-Wye and/or offer something to the group as part of the evening soiree. Despite these rich offerings, the time also felt pretty spacious - I did everything I wanted to but also took time out for myself to read, rest, walk and have a bubble bath. The weekend was offered with a gentle, mature, loving, humour-full holding, with the chance to be massaged, have your tarot read, meet some warm-hearted dogs and get to know a bunch of queer folk. There was a good mix of female, male, queer, trans and/or non-binary folk aged maybe late 20s to late 50s with lots of neurodiversity - all welcome. I highly recommend this weekend as a space to centre your queerness and your queer heart, especially in these increasingly hostile times. Come alone or bring a queer mate/s, partner/s, lover/s etc. and connect to some new folk over this weekend.

A sanctuary of breath and water. The yoga, the cold swims, the nourishing meals — all woven together with such care that bodies unfurl and spirits kindle. Among the garden’s bloom, the chapel hums with a quiet magic; every moment here truly tastes of grace.

Had a truly fabulous weekend doing yoga and wild swimming. Was a little nervous about the swims but no need as Cate guided us all through and knows all there is to know about wild swimming, so calm and confident. Gray’s yoga sessions were uplifting, hard!, soothing, fun, magical and talked to us about the history and purpose of yoga poses, read us beautiful poems and made it a spiritual experience. Matthew cooks delicious interesting and nourishing food all weekend. Including fab cake like the apple cake and chocolate courgette one. Delicious. Totally fabulous weekend will definitely be back to beautiful Wales.

Can 100% recommend Matthew and Gray’s retreats. I just came back from Flow Like a River where I had a wonderful restorative time. Swimming in the Wye and a couple of different lakes was magic, yoga was lovely and food was amazing. The Chapel is a really comfortable place to stay and the hosts were so accommodating. Thank you River Flow team :)
