Superb Company to hire canoes from for any Wye River experience. We completed the Wye100 over for 4 days for charity and the support from Rob, Mark and Kasie was what enabled us to complete this tough challenge. From sorting all the kit out to advise on catching the tide for the last day, along with Mark as guide and Rob getting the canoes out in Chepstow to the lift back to Hay on Wye -Fantastic service from a great team of people. I accidentally left over £150 worth of camping gear in one of the barrels at the end of our trip. Despite many weeks of calling (even speaking to the manager several times) and being told I would be called back; fobbed off with excuses; unanswered emails, I had to accept that they have either taken my gear and are being obstructive, or are so uninterested in helping me retrieve it that it's never going to happen. Really dissappointed and very out of pocket!

We went for a half day canoeing experience and it was fantastic. The staff were very helpful and informative and the activity was simple, including the rapids, thanks to the good advice they gave us. The half day finishes at the barn and just before (10 min away) there is a small and very nice beach to stop for lunch. Would recommend and the views along the way were stunning.

Absolutely wonderful place. The staff are incredibly helpful and kind. The equipment is top notch. The prices are super reasonable. And of course the kayaking is absolutely phenomenal. I would recommend this place to anyone who wants to have an adenture.

We travelled down the River Wye on course to Whitney on Wye, starting at Glasbury. Stupidly we ended up in Bredwardine - about two hours further than what we needed to! Fortunately for us, the staff at Ultimate Activities were on hand to help us out! Special thanks to Sarah for working out where we were and directing us to the right place and especially to Fiona who went out of her way to pick us up, help us book into our campsite and for making sure we were ok! Had a great day out despite the drama and would definitely recommend booking with ultimate as they went above and beyond!

Had a great experience with this company. Rob and Kerry were very well organised, lovely friendly bunch and our kids had a great 1.5 hour SUP lesson. Great range of equipment, excellent location, great communication before and during our session. Can’t fault it. We will be back for another lesson and for the kids to learn some more SUP skills and tricks.

Absolutely cracking 5 day hire over the bank holiday for a big group of 11 from Rob and his team at Ultimate Canoe Hire in Glasbury. We knew exactly what we would be hiring - life jackets, paddles, canoes and kayaks and a few dry barrels. There was tonnes of info on their website about our route from Glasbury - Monmouth, so we knew what we should be prepared for. Everything else we brought ourselves, and we were prepared to muck in together to move kit and canoes up the banks at campsites after hard days on the river. We found all staff really friendly and informative. Our group of friends with mixed levels of experience had a really great and challenging time. One of our kayaks was a bit too sporty for us newbies, but it seemed to be no problem for Rob to drop us off a touring kayak at our next stop when collecting some other canoeists. When we arrived at our end point, we called Rob and he recommended a friendly pub where we could grab a drink whilst we waited. When we got back from the pub Rob was just finishing up loading our 7 crafts onto the trailer and we had a very smooth and chatty journey back to Glasbury. I would absolutely recommend Ultimate canoe hire. These guys do exactly what you'd expect from a hire company. Coming prepared is your responsibility though! If you aren't confident on the water, and need deeper instruction - watch some youtube films, or pay someone to give you some lessons - you don't hire a car without a driving license and expect the hire company to teach you how to drive!
